Without a vision, the people will perish! That is what the scriptures tell us. Without a sense of purpose, the churches, businesses, and individuals will flounder, falter
and eventually crash and burn. I have seen churches literally wonder for years as they try to find themselves. They go through the motions, have services, do
programs, yet they never seem to hit their stride for the Kingdom of God.
All that being said, we've tried to come up with our own Purpose, or "Vision Statement". It's simple, understandable, biblical and easy to remember. Scripture says
that we are called to "love God with all our hearts, soul and mind". It also says we are called to "love others as ourselves." In Mark 12:29-31, Jesus says that these
two commands should be our priorities. Then, just before Jesus ascends into heaven, he leaves us with a life driving commission: "Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)
These passages of scripture tell us what our church should be about! Talk about having an impact on the world! Talk about a transforming purpose for Camden
County and beyond! That's what we want to be about here at Open Door Alliance Church. But it's a bit much to remember off the top of your head isn't it? So we've
changed it so you can easily remember it, and share it with your friends and family.
We exist to enable people to rediscover God by encouraging them to:
Love God
Love Others
Reach and Teach Others
To Love God
This is what we are all about! Every activity, service, program and event should focus on fulfilling these simple and wonderful commands. I believe God will bless us
because we are choosing to make God's priorities our own. I hope this vision statement resonates within you! I hope it encourages and excites you! I hope you will
come and join with us as we try to make the Great Commandment and Great Commission our first concern! This is a Vision that will carry us into the new. Come be
a part of it! Live it out and see the God of all creation move in your hearts, minds and everyday lives!
God Bless,
Rev. Nathan Seckinger
