Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into his harvest field.”
(Matthew 9:37-38)
There are a number of ministries at ODAC:
Children’s Ministries
Mission Statement:
To lead children into an understanding of the following:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your strength; ...love your neighbor as yourself. Deuteronomy 6:5/Leviticus 19:18
Upon Entering the new building:
We plan to implement an educational hour separate from the worship hour. It will provide age appropriate Sunday School classes for
children ages birth through 6th grade.
Within 2 years of entering the new building:
We plan to implement a comprehensive mid week program for preschool through 6th grade students.
Within 5 years of entering the new building:
We plan to design and implement a Christian Nursery School. This program would be sponsored by the church but would be
financially independent from the church.
Our God Inspired Dreams:
We hope to create and implement an Early Intervention (Special Education) play and education group and program.
We would like to host a Special Olympic Basketball Team.
Youth Ministries
Youth today are in many ways the same as they have always been. Once they find something they deem worth doing, it’s all they do.
The trick is how to make Christianity one of those things. Rejection from others is probably the single biggest deterrent to anything
they may have wanted to do, be, or stand for. So we used to try to give them a safe environment surrounded by other Christian’s to
grow and take root. While this aspect is very important, another facet needed to be added. This part is a bit scarier, but we need to
do this (meet) out in the open… in public around their peers. That’s where the real pressure comes in. To be a practicing Christian
in public can be hard. After talking to past graduates, the astounding majority mentioned how hard it was to continue living what they
learned once the Wednesday group was gone. Our goal has always been to make disciples who make disciples who make
disciples… but we need to be active in a lost world to make a difference. The Senior High have taken that stand, and are going to
“practice” being Christians in order to continue this lifestyle through college and on into their future workplaces.
Ushers & Greeters
We "SERVE" God by serving others. The ministry of the Usher/Greeter is one of the most important in our church. Who is the first
person a visitor sees and talks to? The Usher/Greeter! If you like to serve, to be yourself, to enjoy fellowship with others, check us
out. Mark 10:43 ". . . whoever wants to become great must become a servant." You will be called upon to work once every four or
five Sundays with a small group during the morning service. You will be trained on how you can serve others and our church.
Worship Team
Our mission statement is to help people love God, love others and reach and teach others to love God by leading the Open Door
Alliance Church congregation in worship. We desire to demonstrate a passion for God's glory by joyfully and effectively serving the
church, skillfully prepare and render songs of praise and worship with integrity and honor, and maximize the contribution of each
individual on the team.
Our worship team typically plays a mix of traditional and contemporary music during our worship services (both hymns and praise
choruses). We currently have twelve members on our team that are actively involved who play on a rotating schedule.
You can become a part of this exciting music ministry as Open Door Alliance Church begins to develop a full Worship and Arts
ministry.
“All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name.” ( Psalm 86:9)
Prayer Intercessor Ministry
Sunday Morning prayer dedicated to praying for specific requests submitted in the worship service. In addition, we pray for the
worship service, the message being preached that day, the general issues in our body of believers, friends and visitors, and the
community.
The prayer intercessor ministry is a group of believers who meet to pray during the service on Sunday mornings in teams of two or
three. We believe that the Lord answers prayer. All prayer requests are welcome and we would love to have you join our team.
Day & Night Prayer Chain Ministry
A group of believers at ODAC who intercede in prayer on an immediate and ongoing basis for any prayer requests ODAC member
and friends bring to the group's attention. Requests range from concerns for the unsaved to concerns about physical and emotional
health, family, school, job, finances, relationships, and ministries at ODAC, etc.
Open to any followers of Christ who believe prayer changes things and who are committed to pray faithfully. Currently, there are 27
believers on the chain. Membership is open.
1 Timothy 2:1, I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone.
Psalm 55:22, Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.
1 Samuel 12:23, As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you.
Saturday Morning Men's Prayer Group
The Saturday Morning Men's Prayer Group meets in Pastor Nathan’s office from 7:30 to 8:30am the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each
month to pray for our church, its ministries, the pastor and the needs of individual members. We start with a segment of growth
through a devotional study.
The Saturday Morning Men’s Prayer Group is open to all men. It is a small group experience meeting Saturday morning. Come and
join us. Our goal is to expand it to several groups meeting at different times during the month. We would like to have men's
breakfasts, recreational activities and work projects for a time of fellowship and outreach activity.
